Fun Easter Hunt for all at North County Park April 4, 2009
|
Once upon a time in VLE the Easter Bunny came every year to do an egg hunt with the VLE kids – then the hurricanes came and the bunny got cancelled the next year. He was lost for a few years, but this year the Easter Bunny has again found Vero Lake Estates and fun was had by all. The event took place Saturday, April 4th at the State Preserve off CR 512 – north of North County Park.
The Easter Bunny greeted each and every child who wanted to talk or get their picture taken – the young children really liked this, some even went twice when they saw one of their friends kiss the bunny and they hadn’t done that, they took another turn! They were all so cute – as was the Easter Bunny.
The Vero Lake Estates Property Owners had “how many jelly beans in this jar” contest and 2 other jars with gum balls – the winners took home the jar if they were closest to the correct number. There also was a craft table for the kids to color paper eggs and make decorations.
The egg hunt was a great success; the field was divided into 2 sections – under 5 and 5 & over. The kids took off like rabbits when they heard “GO” – they scouted the long grass and trees and tree root areas for the plastic eggs; some of which had special tickets in them for free large Easter Basket prizes and others had tickets for Beef O’Bradys.
All the children were offered a cold juice drink after they finished their hunt. The residents and the children of VLE thank the committee and the sponsors –Dr. Chapman & Dr. Pirkle, Beef O’Bradys in Sebastian and Space Coast Credit Union.
All the children took home a prize with candy and the event was free to all VLE residents’ children.
With some luck - and Indian River County help, maybe next year we can have this event in the new park being created in VLE.
